Muybridge

I love Guy Delisle and virtually every book he writes is a delight. Imagine my excitement when I saw that he had recently published Muybridge (Pour une Fraction de Seconde in French), a biography of Eadweard Muybridge, the famous chronophotographer, and a figure whose work I find fascinating anyway! Muybridge is a brilliant graphic novel that highlights the incredible destiny of a complicated man whose work influenced not just biology but, as I discovered here, much more in the realms of science and entertainment. This book is not only engrossing, but absolutely fascinating as well, superbly drawn, with a lot of subtle changes to Delisle's "default" drawing style. Absolutely recommended, especially if you're into photography.
